The Heart & Soul
Behind Tatte
Tatte is more than a bakery — it's a gathering place where warmth, craft, and community come together. Discover the people, the passion, and the tatte bakery philosophy that makes every visit memorable.
A Labor of Love, Baked Fresh Every Day
Tatte began in the kitchen of founder Tzurit Or, who brought her Israeli culinary heritage to the United States with a vision to create an extraordinary bakery experience. Every recipe at Tatte carries the warmth of home — crafted with integrity, plated with artistry, and served with genuine care.
What started as a small farmers' market stall grew into one of the most beloved tatte bakery destinations in the region. Today, Tatte serves thousands of guests who come for the food and stay for the feeling of belonging — a place where every pastry, sandwich, and cup of coffee tells a story.

Tzurit Or set up a small stall at a local farmers' market in Cambridge, MA, selling hand-rolled pastries and homemade tahini cookies. The lines stretched around the block from day one.

Growing demand led to four new locations across Boston neighborhoods. Tatte became a destination for brunch, community gatherings, and working lunches — beloved by all walks of life.
National Recognition & DC Debut
Tatte was featured in national food publications and expanded to Washington, D.C., including our flagship location at 7276 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda — bringing the magic of tatte bakery to the Mid-Atlantic region.
Community & Sustainability Pledge
Tatte launched its farm-to-table sourcing initiative, partnering with regional farms and pledging to reduce food waste by 40%. We also introduced a community table program supporting local organizations.
